SmartLine® level transmitters and non-contact radar
SmartLine® level transmitters measure liquid level and interfaces in dynamic process conditions, with an accuracy of ±3 mm or 0.03 % of measured distance and a repeatability of ±1 mm.

What it is
Purpose and use
Honeywell states a pressure range from -1 bar to 400 bar and a temperature range from -60 to 450 °C, with a full scope of process connections — flanges from DN40 and 1½ inch, NPT thread from ¾ inch — and wetted materials for corrosive environments in Alloy C-276 and SS316. The transmitters are 2-wire, 4-20 mA loop powered with HART and Foundation Fieldbus output options, full compliance to SIL 2/3 requirements as standard, 2 kV electrical transient immunity and comprehensive on-board diagnostics.
The SmartLine Application Validation Tool is the part that saves money before the order: it validates the transmitter against the specified process tank and interfaces to Honeywell's order management system, so the device arrives built to the right specification instead of being discovered as the wrong model at commissioning.
Where contact measurement is unsuitable, the non-contact FMCW radar level meter measures liquids and supports volume assessment, with a standard accuracy of ±3 mm, operation up to a flange temperature of 200 °C and 40 barg, and a measuring range up to 80 m. Honeywell states more stable measurement than pulse radar and suitability for agitated process conditions.

FAQ
Questions about SmartLine® level transmitters and non-contact radar
Contact measurement or non-contact radar?
Non-contact radar where the medium is aggressive, the tank is agitated or nothing should protrude into the process. Contact measurement where the geometry, internals or foam make a radar signal unreliable. The medium, the internals and the agitation decide it, not the tank size.
What does the Application Validation Tool actually prevent?
Ordering the wrong model. It validates the transmitter against the specified tank and feeds Honeywell's order management system, so the device is built to the right specification. The alternative is discovering a mismatch at commissioning, when the delay costs more than the instrument.
