Mining

VERTEX supplies technological solutions, equipment and materials including expert services for minerals processing. Our company’s target is to provide the best solution in terms of technology, lifetime and CAPEX & OPEX to our clients.

What we offer

Technological solutions, equipment and materials for minerals processing

Underground operations, conveying, crushing and screening, and the processing plant above them. Mining combines the two halves of our business more directly than any other sector: heavy wear parts on one side, continuous gas monitoring on the other.

New equipment & components

We select, deliver and implement optimal technological solutions using reliable high-performance equipment from Europe. Working directly with many manufacturers, we can find the required equipment, guarantee competitiveness and bring maximum benefit to our client.

Range of equipment

  • Materials storage equipment
  • Crushers & screens
  • Electrical motors
  • Instrumentation & automation
  • Lining for crushers
  • Lining for ball mills and screens
  • Conveyor belts
  • Hydraulic cylinders
  • Electrical parts
  • Grinding media
Spare & wear parts

In addition VERTEX has a strong focus on after-sales customer service and provides full range of spares and consumables for the mining plants.

Modernization & repair works

The range of services of VERTEX includes not only spare & wear parts but also modernization and repair works in order to improve the efficiency and lifetime of production lines and equipment. VERTEX supports its clients in different ways — anytime, fast and everywhere.

These are the services we offer

  • Support with assembly and commissioning from our specialists
  • Technical training of your employees for operation and maintenance
  • After sales service including consultation on operation or maintenance issues
  • Modernization of existing plants, e.g. by retrofitting to increase capacities or lifetime
  • Repairs of old & damaged equipment on and also off plant site

Processes

What happens in this sector

Underground operations

Development and production faces, ventilation districts, loading and haulage with diesel equipment, charging stations for battery vehicles. The atmosphere changes with the ventilation, so monitoring has to be both personal and area-based.

Conveying and materials handling

Conveyor drives, transfer points, bunkers and silos, materials storage equipment. Dust, abrasion and entry into confined bunkers dominate.

Crushing, screening and processing

Crushers and screens with their linings, ball mills, classification and flotation, dewatering. Wear parts and downtime cost drive the specification here.

Hazards

Which gases, and where they occur

MethaneCoal seams, sealed districts, return airways — measured as percentage of the lower explosive limit.
Carbon monoxide and nitrogen dioxideDiesel equipment exhaust, blasting fumes, heating events.
HydrogenBattery charging stations for underground vehicles.
Oxygen deficiencySealed areas, bunkers, silos and inertised zones.

FAQ

Questions about Mining

How large a portable fleet does an underground operation need?

More than the number of people underground at one time, because instruments are lost, damaged and out for calibration. The practical question is not the unit price but the four-year cost including calibration labour, which is why docking and a standardised instrument type usually decide the total more than the purchase decision does.

Can you supply wear parts for crushers and mills that are no longer in production?

Frequently yes. Send the manufacturer and type designation if you have them; otherwise a drawing, a dimensional sketch, a photograph of the type plate or the worn part itself is enough to start the identification. Where an original is unavailable we propose a technically equivalent replacement and document the substitution.
