VersaFlow flow meters

VersaFlow covers four flow measuring principles under one platform — electromagnetic, Coriolis mass, vortex and clamp-on ultrasonic — so the measuring principle can follow the medium rather than the supplier's product range.

What it is

Purpose and use

Electromagnetic meters are the proven technology for conductive media, with conductivity down to 1 µS/cm, empty pipe detection, electrode noise detection, bi-directional flow, solid content up to 70 % and sizes from 0.1 to 80 inches (DN2.5 to DN3000). They suit everything from clean liquids to slurries and pastes with high solids content, including custody transfer applications and energy measurement in commercial buildings.

Coriolis mass flow meters measure mass and density directly, with high accuracy, low pressure drop, near zero flow rate capability, excellent zero stability and stable measurement even with 100 % gas entrainment. They are used for liquids and gases, slurries and viscous products, custody transfer, abrasive fluids, supercritical gases, LNG transfer and dispensing, and combustion control.

Vortex meters cover superheated and saturated steam measurement, steam boiler monitoring, compressor output monitoring, compressed air consumption, industrial gas consumption and SIP and CIP processes in food, beverage and pharmaceutical production, with integrated gross and net heat calculation and a maintenance-free, water hammer resistant sensor design. Clamp-on ultrasonic meters measure without entering the pipe at all: no pressure loss, no wear, no clogging, no flow interruption for installation, in stationary and portable configurations, for chemical addition, potable and purified water, refined hydrocarbons, sanitary flow measurement, de-ionised water and district heating water.

What we deliver around this product

We select the measuring principle from the medium, the pipe and the required accuracy, supply and install the meter, and commission it — including the parts of the installation, such as straight inlet runs, that decide whether the stated accuracy is ever reached.

FAQ

Questions about VersaFlow flow meters

Can we measure flow without cutting the pipe?

Yes — a clamp-on ultrasonic meter mounts on the outside, with no pressure loss, no wear and no interruption of the flow for installation. It is also available as a portable instrument, which makes it the usual choice for verifying an existing measurement or for a temporary balance.

Which principle for steam?

Vortex. It is specified for superheated and saturated steam, steam boiler monitoring and compressor output, with integrated gross and net heat calculation. Electromagnetic meters cannot measure steam at all, and Coriolis is normally oversized for the duty.
