XNX™ Universal Transmitter

The XNX™ Universal Transmitter is compatible with all Honeywell gas sensor technologies. It is the platform to specify when a plant wants one transmitter type across electrochemical, catalytic, infrared point and open path detection.

What it is

Purpose and use

Standardising the transmitter rather than the sensor is an operating decision, not a technical one. It means one spare part on the shelf, one configuration procedure, one training session for the maintenance team and one interface into the control system, while the detection technology at each measuring point is still chosen on its merits.

On installations that have grown over twenty years and now carry four generations of detector, the XNX™ is usually the vehicle for consolidating them without replacing the field cabling.

Technical description

What we deliver around this product

We survey what is installed, establish which detectors and controllers are still supported, and propose a migration that keeps coverage intact — normally sensors and transmitters first, controller afterwards, with the documentation updated at each step.

FAQ

Questions about XNX™ Universal Transmitter

Can we modernise detectors without replacing the cabling?

Often yes. Whether it works depends on the existing signal type, the cable cross-section and length, and the channel count of the installed controller. That survey is the first step of any retrofit we quote, because it decides the cost far more than the equipment does.
