Honeywell BW™ Clip
The BW™ Clip series is a single-gas detector for workforces that need dependable personal protection without a maintenance organisation behind it. The instrument is switched on once and then runs continuously for its service life.

What it is
Purpose and use
Honeywell states up to three years of maintenance-free operation for the series: no sensor replacement, no battery replacement and no battery charging. That changes the commercial logic of a gas detection fleet. Instead of a workshop, a calibration bench and a stock of sensors, the operator buys a defined service life and replaces the instrument at the end of it.
In practice this makes the BW™ Clip the instrument of choice where devices are handed to contractors, visitors or a large shift workforce, where instruments regularly go missing, and where nobody can guarantee that a maintenance routine will actually be carried out.

FAQ
Questions about Honeywell BW™ Clip
What happens at the end of the service life of a BW™ Clip?
The instrument reaches the end of its defined service life and is replaced. There is no sensor or battery change during operation, which is the point of the design. We plan replacement batches with you in advance so that a fleet does not expire in the middle of a shutdown.
Does a maintenance-free detector still need bump testing?
Yes. Maintenance-free refers to sensor and battery replacement, not to functional testing. The interval follows the instrument documentation and your risk assessment; with an IntelliDox™ docking station the test and its record happen automatically.
